The Little Drummer Boy

Devin had his first public performance last night. He played the part of a little drummer boy. He started off confused, then got scared and almost ‘lost it’ ( Mr. Pouty Man came out but thankfully no screaming!) but after the first round of applause, he cheered up! The pics may be a bit blurry-hard to catch him when moving. Enjoy!

I bought his shirt the day before at JCPenny’s. I bought a 2T which is what size all his other clothes are but NO! it was too small. Poor kid! I guess now I know to buy a size larger (in dress clothes at least).

Getting Ready…

We’re getting ready for Christmas this week. Our shopping was done a few weeks ago- my first Black Friday! Yesterday we put up our tree and nativity scene. Tomorrow night we’ll decorate the tree together. (I have finals tomorrow am) Then, the only thing left to do is wrap presents- which Travis leaves to me EVERY YEAR- but that’s ok, I actually like wrapping presents.

From Crib to Toddler Bed

Another activity for my vacation this week was changing Devin’s crib into a toddler bed. He’s been crawling out of the crib for some time now so we thought we’d save ourselves the ER trip. However, he hasn’t slept well (at night or for nap time) since it’s been changed. Naptime has turned into play time and at night he’ll sleep for a few hrs then get up then sleep until morning. Today he finally took a nap (first in days) but only after putting toys in the bed with him and tonight he went to bed easily and hasn’t gotten up yet… progress? Hopefully! Anyway, heres a pic of the ‘new’ bed…

Hi! I decided to take this idea from Chris and Jon and start OUR own blog. This will truly be easier than trying to share every picture and experience with everyone who may want to know or see. I’ll just blog occassionally and you guys can tune in at will.

The latest happenings have been Halloween. We trick or treated with a friend of mine from work, Kathy, and her family. Had a good time and the boys got LOTS-A candy. Next was Devin’s 2nd birthday on Nov. 7. We had a small party at home. The weather was great until the party started and then the wind blew like crazy and we had a hard time with the candles- but all turned out well. Finally, we had Thanksgiving at my parents. Travis ‘Egg-ed’ the turkey- for those of you who don’t know… Travis bakes/grills/steams/etc most of our dinners (meats and veggies) on his precious EGG- one of our best investments. It was relaxing– eating, playing then going home and vegging on the couch (as much as you can veg with Devin)

Ok- so just a few pics this time…. This is my first attempt at my own blog so I’ll do better next time- promise
